The research behind our products started in the 1990's at universities in Norway, Spain and Italy. To day our research is continued at universities and research institutions in the Netherlands, Italy, Finland and on Iceland. The knowledged generated through our research are the fundament of 'The Balance Health Concept', combining polyhenols from extra virgin olive oil with marine omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) from fish in such a way that most people safely and efficiently may restore and maintain normal Omega-6/Omega-3 fatty acid balance for life.
Our products combine the best from both the Mediterranean and the Arctic diet. Food is our natural source of energy for maintenance and growth. However, food is also the only source of several essential components for life. Thus, the nutritional quality of the food you eat is important for several reasons. The essential Omega-6/Omega-3 fatty acid balance is considered to be of special importance. Your body’s Omega-6/Omega-3 fatty acid balance can be measured by using our home test. If this test shows that you have an unfavourable fatty acid profile, a safe and efficient way to restore your normal Omega-6/Omega-3 fatty acid balance will be to consume our products as recommended in the form of oil, powder and/or soft gels. All our products are interchangeable as long as you stick to the recommended daily dose described on the packaging. This dose is adapted for age, weight and lifestyle.
BioActive Foods AS launched its first products in 2010. Today the product range includes a home test, oil, powder, soft gels and Protect tablets. We are currently expanding our product range into markets both inside and outside of Europe.
